A Haptic Teleoperation Approach Based on Contact Force Control
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a new teleoperation approach using a virtual spring, and local contact force control on the slave robot. The operational space framework provides the control structure needed to achieve decoupled task dynamics. A virtual spring connects the master and slave systems and a closed-loop force controller compensates for the dynamics of the slave system, rendering transparent the effector of the slave robotic system. The active force control approach allows the desired motion and contact forces to be combined in a single force command. The required performance and robustness of force control are achieved by a full state reconstruction using a modified Kalman estimator, which addresses disturbances and modeling uncertainties. The performance of both telepresence and force control are further improved by on-line stiffness estimation of the object in contact with the effector. The redundancy of the mobile manipulation system is addressed through a decoupled decomposition of task and posture dynamics. KEY WORDS—teleoperation, mobile manipulation, haptics, force control

متن کاملControlling a Passive Haptic Master During Teleoperation
The primary goal of the research proposed here is to develop a control scheme for passive haptic devices used as a master device during teleoperation. Haptic, or force-feedback devices can be divided into two groups based on the energetic nature of their actuators, either passive or active. The research here studies the passive devices, more specifically dissipative passive devices that use bra...
متن کاملDelay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach
There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...

Using local force control at the slave robot, contact with soft and hard surfaces is attained with high performance. The control design inserts a virtual spring between the master and slave control systems to generate the desired forces. The closed loop performance is increased b...
متن کاملBilateral Teleoperation for Force Sensorless 1-DOF Robots
It is well known that for bilateral teleoperation, force feedback information is needed. In this paper, we propose a control approach for bilateral teleoperation with uncertainties in the model of the slave robot and which does not use force sensors for haptic feedback. The controller design is based on a cyclic switching algorithm. In the first phase of the cyclic algorithm, we estimate the en...
